Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I hadn't seen the MA girls play this season, so decided since it was tournment time I better get to a game. They played Friday and won 1-0, it was exciting, so on Sat I rode over to Leon with the kids. They won 1-0 over Wayne, still in tournment, way to go Raiderettes!! Both ball games were fun to watch and kept you on pins and needles, but it was just as much fun to watch the kids goof off too!! Evan's two favorite things to do is go to the concession stand and dance to the music between innings. Mallory just likes to go between where ever Dad and Mom is sitting or Grandma's and ask for money to get something to eat! I see why they like to go to ballgames!!! Anyway just wanted to share some pictures from the game. Enjoy!

Goodbye Spring Hello Summer

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve updated!! Spring was busy, but it was long, wet and cold. It seemed like summer would never get here, but here it is almost the 4th of July.
To go back to the beginning of spring, it started out with track season for Des. Des high jumped this year, she did pretty well, although if you ask her, she wouldn’t say that. She forgets that she is competing in high school now and not junior high. She placed several times this year in high jump, just not as high as she would have liked. It was such a relief when the bar was still in place after the jump!!!!!! Mount Ayr had a very successful track season, girls and boys both were very well represented at state track.

Of course the big event of spring was PROM!! Des was asked by Junior Matt Jones, she looked beautiful and Matt look great, they had a blast. A few couples went together in a stretch limo and that was great, no worries about wrecking someone else’s car!!!!!!!!!

Dance recital came next. Des danced in 11 different dances and danced in all 3 shows. She really loves to dance, but the more she gets involved at school the harder it is to get to practice, I’m afraid next year she’ll have to give up team and probably some of the extra’s that she does. Mallory made her debut on stage this year tumbling. She and her friend from daycare and preschool, started their routine out by doing somersaults over each other and between each others legs, they did it all the way across the stage. She was not shy at all and had so much fun!!! Not like her mother who had to be carried out on stage at her first dance recital!!! Des baby-sits for Rachel Lutrick and she danced this year at Leslies. Haylee Gillman, Joni (Butler) and Jeremy’s little girl look adorable and you could tell she was having fun being a star!

Mallory and Evan are so much fun to entertain, they love helping grandpa and playing outside at our house. Of course, Grandma always has to have her camera out. Evan likes chasing the cat and Mallory loves Bella. They have a new puppy of their own now, his name is Moe. The other favorite thing they have to do is have a push up while they are here. Something new is drinking out of the hose I think they practice this at their house too, because they are pretty good at it!! We tried to take pictures the other day, the wind was blowing and of course one would smile when the other wasn't. Here are some random shots, Evan’s hair is so cute, but I think it’s coming off pretty shortly. It’s to hot but doesn’t he look adorable!!

We are all so excited about the birth of Decker Joe. Mallory and Evan can’t wait to show him some fun!! We had a great time at his baby shower at Matt and Katie’s house. Ann, Sarah and Jared’s girlfriend Gina came, Katie and Becky were here from Chicago, and it was great that everyone could meet Decker. My winter project was making a quilt for this new bundle of joy. Don’t you think Decker looks good on it!! Evan and Mallory were taking in the diaper changing session. Evan looks like he is saying, hey he has one of those things like me!!!!!

Lexi our lab for 12 years died this spring, she had cancer and could not get up on her own and was just miserable. She was the best pet anyone could ask for. She was the last one left from Dad’s litter of pups born in June of 1997.

This final picture is Easter Sunrise. God Bless you and God Bless America!

Quack Quack!!!!!!!!!

They are so cute!!! We took Mallory and Evan over to the Farmers Coop open house Saturday in Mt Ayr, we just couldn't resist!! We thought they would get to stay at their house, WRONG!, so we have some cute little duckies at our house!! I am sure in a couple weeks, they'll be ready to go swimming!!!

Mallory celebrated her 4th birthday on March 15th! She had so much fun opening presents, but she couldn't wait to put on her new swimsuit all by herself!!!!!

The weather was great Saturday, the kids had fun playing outside with Bella! Evan throws her toys at her, instead of throwing them away from her!!! Mallory just likes to lug her around to keep her away from Evan!!
